Dr. Sonia Magruder

Dr. Sonia H. Magruder was born and raised in El Salvador. She moved to Houston, TX in 2006 to attend college where she graduated Valedictorian from the University of Houston with a Bachelors in Biology in 2011. Dr. Magruder spent two summers working at Brigham and Women’s hospital/Harvard Medical School, where she helped conduct research in the field of molecular and cell biology.

She then pursued her D.D.S. at The University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston, TX where she was awarded the prestigious William S. Kramer Award of Excellence. She then completed 2 more years of additional training and obtained her certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston, TX. This program is considered to be one of the best and most sought after Orthodontic programs in the country. Dr. Magruder’s master thesis studied the genes involved in dental agenesis. Dr. Magruder is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.

She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Ninth District Dental Society. In her free time, Sonia and Jeremy like to cook, travel and hang out with their baby boy, Benjamin and sweet labrador retriever, Boss.
